Xã hội học Việt Nam: Định vị để tiến vào kỷ nguyên mới

Abstract

Over nearly half a century of formation and development, Vietnamese sociology has gradually affirmed its role within the national social sciences system. Using a literature review approach, this article aims to reposition the status and role of Vietnamese sociology by analysing its achievements and limitations; thereby, proposing key orientations to comprehensively restructure sociology in both short term and long term, toward an open, interdisciplinary and practical direction with profound policy impacts. In order to avoid falling behind and to live up to its role as a leader in social knowledge, Vietnamese sociology needs to evolve into a science capable of interpreting, criticizing, shaping and constructing the future.
