Abstract

In this article, we study to develop a radiation safety procedure in the production process of Y-90 microspheres and 32P-chromic phosphate at Dalat nuclear reactor for application in cancer treatment in Vietnam. Gamma and beta dose rate measurement methods were measured by the RAD 100 dosimeter, surface radioactive contamination was checked on the CoMo 170 dosimeter, radiation shielding methods, radioactive waste treatment, and radioactive bleaching were done in Dalat nuclear reactor. The result is that we developed a radiation safety procedure of  Y-90 microspheres and 32P-chromic phosphate in Da Lat nuclear reactor to meet radiation safety requirements of Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety. This is a promising radiopharmaceutical for cancer treatment in Vietnam nowadays.
