Abstract

Abstract: Fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) is a new, high-strength composite material with many advantages in bearing capacity and corrosion resistance. Simultaneously, due to its structural characteristics, this material is able to effectively absorb the momentum caused by blast loads. In fact, it is required to study the use of FRP in reinforced concrete structures subjected to blast loads in order to apply it to increase the bearing capacity of some types of construction structures. In the article, the author uses ABAQUS software to study the behavior of reinforced concrete slabs strengthened with FRP when subjected to blast loads, thereby providing an evaluation of the effectiveness in using this material.
