SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPE DESIGN

Abstract

Abstract: In the context of rapid urbanization and increasingly
severe climate change in Vietnam, sustainable landscape design
has become a key factor in minimizing environmental impacts,
optimizing resource use, and improving urban life quality. This study
synthesizes the principles and solutions of sustainable landscape
design, including the use of native trees, the development of rain
gardens - biological drainage, reduction of concrete construction,
application of permeable materials, rainwater collecting, green
roofs, erosion control, drought-resistant landscapes, and attracting
pollinators. Analysis results show that these solutions offer significant
ecological, economic, and social benefits. This article contributes to
clarifying the role of landscape design in green city development and
proposes directions for widespread application in practice
