Abstract

With the outstanding development of materials science, composite materials
have been widely used in all engineering industries such as automotive technology,
construction, aerospace, military, and so on. Especially in the current period, with the
trend of green and sustainable development, scientists are deeply interested in the
research and application of composite materials made from natural materials such
as bamboo, banana, and coconut fibers. This article for the first time researches and
numerically simulates bullet penetration resistance and the impact of shock waves
on plates made of bamboo fiber composite materials. Geometric parameters were
evaluated for two cases of natural fiber composite plates subjected to bullet
penetration and the shock wave of a TNT explosion. The research results of the article
will be an important basis for the development and application of composite
materials made from natural fibers in the civil sector as well as in defense.
