SIMULATION OF THE DETUMBLING MODE USING REACTION WHEELS IN A CUBESAT MODEL

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce a simulation model for the Determination and
Positioning Satellite Control (ADCS) module using Matlab/Simulink software,
and simulate the satellite detumbling mode using reaction wheels. The built
models include environment model, satellite kinematics and dynamics model,
sensors model, attitude determination algorithm, actuator model and control
model. The reaction wheels control algorithm is applied to the model to simulate
the satellite detumbling with environmental disturbances. The simulation results
are relatively accurate with the theory, confirm the model and the algorithm
works well.
