A METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE INTERSECTION OF ROTATING CIRCLES THROUGH SUPPORTING SPHERES
Abstract
Accurately determining the joint intersection between large-sized rotating circles
in the oil and gas and chemical industries will improve quality, reduce costs and
machining time. Currently, in the design and construction, CAD software is often used
to determine the joint intersection and give the coordinates of the intermediate points
on the intersection for the preparation of the joint surface and the joint processing. .
However, for large-sized details such as tanks, tanks, pipelines in the petroleum and
chemical industries, the process of converting from drawings to large-scale fabrication
in actual field still has difficulties. certain towel. The joint trajectory construction and
manual machining must be carried out on the parts participating in the joint.
Therefore, besides CAD knowledge and skills, it is still necessary to have thinking about
graphic geometry so that the process of building intersections on the surface of large
rotating parts is accurate, fast and efficient. This paper presents a method to
determine the intersection of rotating circles through auxiliary spheres with the
necessary geometric thinking to improve the efficiency of the process of using CAD
software for designers and builders in the field. petroleum and chemical industry.
