ASSESSING THE CURRENT SITUATION AND PROPOSED SOLUTIONS FOR DOMESTIC SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT IN PHU TAN WARD ACCORDING TO THE ZERO GARBAGE CITY MODEL OF THU DAU MOT CITY
Abstract
Domestic solid waste (MSW) is becoming an urgent environmental issue in Thu Dau Mot city. This topic focuses on MSW management in Phu Tan ward
according to the “Zero Garbage City” model. The research results show that when applying this model, the MSW collection rate has increased to more than 95%,
with more than 90% of residents evaluating the collection time and frequency as reasonable, contributing to improving urban aesthetics. However, the
effectiveness of the model is still limited in the locality. Therefore, the study proposes solutions to improve propaganda work, raise people's awareness of MSW
classification and treatment, and optimize the collection process. These solutions not only improve the effectiveness of MSW management but also contribute
to environmental protection and sustainable development in Phu Tan ward.
