Abstract
The increasing technology advancement in recent years has highlighted the prominent position of online education, especially in the field of English language teaching. However, the effectiveness of applying online platforms in vocational training institutions remains vague. Therefore, this study aims to examine the efficacy of online English teaching based on the perspectives of English teachers at a vocational training institution in Central Vietnam. Data was collected through online questionnaires and individual interviews with ten English teachers who had used online teaching tools during the Covid-19 pandemic. Combining these two data collection methods, this study sheds light on the effectiveness of online teaching approach in promoting information transmission, improving learner engagement, enhancing teacher-student interaction, diversifying teaching methods, and encouraging peer collaboration. Hopefully, this study contributes to improving the effectiveness of online teaching, towards a sustainable and effective English teaching and learning method in the digital age of English education.
