THE UNIQUE FEATURE OF THE CHAU DRUM IN THE VIETNAM ART OF BOI SINGING

Abstract

In the world in general and in Southeast Asia in particular, there is no country that has a musical instrument that is only for the enjoyment of people to use in performing arts programs (they belong to the audience). In Vietnam, there is a type of percussion instrument used not by the musicians in the orchestra, but by a representative of the audience. The person representing the audience using this instrument not only has the task of interrupting sentences and paragraphs according to the rhythm of the singer, but also has the unique task of praising and criticizing the singer with the sound signal of that instrument.
