Evaluate “Bac hanh tung ky” of Le Quynh in Vietnam’s literature in the 18th-19th century

Abstract

Memoirs, short stories, and novels are three components of medieval Vietnamese autobiographical prose. Le Quynh (1750 - 1805) – a loyalist of the Le Dynasty in exile in China, recorded the events, feelings, and confidants of his personal as well as those who were in the same situation with him under Le dynasty for about fifteen years, living as a prisoner in the North. Le Quynh's work is a continuation of the achievements of previous authors in the autobiography. Moreover, it contributes to making this literary genre one of the genres that create the magnificent achievements of the literary period in the eighteenth century.
