Abstract

Tang poetry in the Late Tang period left many positive impressions on researchers and poetry enthusiasts in China and neighboring countries, including Vietnam. Due to changes in the economy, culture, society, and politics with a pessimistic tendency, the content of poetry from this period often carries a sad tone. Many poets chose to compose in the Zen-Taoist style, seeking solace in nature to find peace of mind, reflecting on the glorious past, and hoping for a better, more peaceful world. Qi Ji was one of such poets. Unfortunately, while his contemporaries became renowned and celebrated for their works, Qi Ji and his Zen poems, which contain deep philosophical reflections on life and human existence, remained quietly obscured amidst the noisy and dusty world
