EFFECTS OF THREE TYPES OF ROOTSOTCKS ON THE GROWTH OF SEEDLESS DUONG MADARIN (CITRUS RETICULATA BLANCO) IN DIEN KHANH DISTRICT, KHANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

To have a scientific basis to develop seedless Duong madarin varieties in Dien Khanh district, Khanh Hoa province. An important content was to determine the suitable rootstock among three types of rootstocks: Volkamer lemon, Tau lemon, Mat orange. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design (CRBD) with 3 streatments was 3 rootstocks, 5 repeat (6 plant each). Record the growth parameters at each branch level from the time of planting to the time of flowering according to the description of citrus trees of IPGRI, 1999. The results showed: seedless Duong mandarin grafted on 3 types of rootstock (Volkamer lemon, Tau lemon, Mat orange) had the same degree of compatibility, number of shoots, number of leaves/branches; But rootstock diameter, trunk diameter, tree height, canopy width, branch length of seedless Duong mandarin grafted on Volkamer lemon rootstock the best growth, growth on Tau lemon rootstock was well and medium growth on Mat orange rootstock. Seedless Duong mandarin grafted on Volkamer lemon rootstock the best growth, followed by Tau lemon rootstock. This result can be used for the development of seedless Duong madarin in Dien Khanh district, Khanh Hoa province.
