Propagation, storage and conservation of forest orange trees in Khanh Hoa
Abstract
Khanh Hoa wild orange tree (Citrus hystrix DC.) is a highly adaptable species, has good resistance to external conditions and has very high essential oil value. The results of propagation, preservation and conservation of wild orange trees in Khanh Hoa by cuttings and monitoring some growth indicators showed that the rooting rate and survival rate of low cuttings accounted for 54.66% and 44.33%, respectively. 60 wild orange cuttings, 120 green-skin pomelo trees, 120 Sanh oranges, 120 Soan oranges and 120 Duong tangerines grafted on wild orange rootstocks have been planted and preserved. Currently, all trees are growing well. The research results provide scientific data for making decisions to replicate the Khanh Hoa wild orange genetic resource conservation model.
