UN ULTRA-WIDEBAND ANTENNA SUGGESTION FOR HANDHELD DEVICES
Abstract
Recent years, a variety of technologies have been developed and applied in order to meet the requirement of high-speed information and improve the quality of radio communication systems. In particular, the combination of ultra-wideband communication with MIMO technology must be mentioned. In this paper, a new ultra-wideband antenna structure with dimensions of 32 mm × 32 mm × 1.6 mm for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is proposed. The plate-type monopole UWB antenna operates in the frequency range from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz with a voltage standing wave factor (VSWR) less than 2. From that structure, parameters such as radiation pattern, maximum gain of proposed antenna are calculated. The prototypes of this antenna were also built and went under testing to compare its specifications with simulation results.
