Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) devices have become ubiquitous in every household, thanks to the efforts of software and hardware manufacturers such as Amazon, Alphabet, Apple, BKAV, CMC, etc. However, the trend is to use cloud-based data storage services provided by these companies, which poses a risk of data leakage through data storage centers. Additionally, smart cameras could act as a backdoor to compromise corporate networks or critical infrastructure. Hackers can also attack critical devices and pose a significant risk to personal safety. Many researches highlight potential dangers for IoT devices. Therefore, the goal of the article is to research and improve security based on a virtual private network (VPN) and proceed to personalize smart home monitoring controls based on IoT device platform. Data is completely stored directly on the user’s device, independent of cloud storage services, ensuring privacy and security.
