Abstract

Aquaculture development is a topic of great interest in developing economies. This article aims to evaluate and propose solutions to develop aquaculture production in Khanh Hoa province. In the study, a combination of different methods such as descriptive statistical analysis, comparative methods and field survey methods are used for secondary data from the Statistical Yearbook and reports on Vietnam’s aquaculture and provincial-level governing bodies. The results show that the aquaculture scale has reached a stable level, and gradually switched to applying the form of intensive farming in breadth. The structure of aquaculture is changing in a positive direction, in which the forms of production organization are applied quite diversely. However, the form of farming households is still popular, so the farming scale is quite small and scattered, and the business administration capacity is not high. The expansion of aquaculture production in breadth has run out of space and can only be developed on the basis of increased productivity through technical and technological improvements. The potential for improving aquaculture efficiency is quite large thanks to the reduction in the cost of feed and essential farming equipment, seed and labor.
