PERCEPTION OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ON BUSINESS AND ACCOUNTING ETHICS EDUCATION
Abstract
This study investigates the perception of economics and business undergraduate students on the importance of business and accounting ethics education at a university in the South of Vietnam. Data was collected from interviews with 10 students and a survey of 358 undergraduate students majoring in economics and business in their first to fourth years. Research results show that students appreciate the importance of business and accounting ethics education. Students with higher GPA perceive business and accounting ethics education as more important. Students in years 2, 3 and 4 rate the importance of education in business and accounting ethics higher than students in year 1. Accounting students appreciate education in accounting ethics. Besides, female students appreciate the importance of accounting ethics education higher than male ones. Finally, several recommendations are proposed regarding business and accounting ethics education.
