The development of Vietnamese industry: the status and challenges
Abstract
Thanks to the positive impact of the policy and macro measures during the doi moi process, Vietnam’s industry has recorded quite a few successes. However in order to meet the requirement of the international integration and the reality for development the industry will have to work out a number for appropriate solution for its development . The article focuses on analyzing the status and challenges of the industrial development from 1996 up to now with the following points- The status of industrial production from 1996 up to now: the portion of industry on GDP, the industrial restructure, the level of technologies, facilities and equipment and labor forces in the industrial sectors.
- Mechanism, policies the effects on the industrial development for the past few years
- The outstanding problems and challenges for the industrial development, the slow down of industrial efficiency, outdated facilities, the quality and low labor productivity. The high fees in services and infrastructure, the low efficiency of cooperation in industrial production, lack of investment in the industry and low efficiency.
