Music plays a vital role in human life and has long been an indispensable component of the general education curriculum, contributing to the holistic development and character formation of children. In Dong Hoi Ward, Quang Tri Province, most primary schools have implemented the new general education curriculum, including Music education. However, several local characteristics—such as strong regional dialectal influences, the diverse backgrounds of students from different localities, and certain physical and developmental differences compared to peers in larger urban areas—have affected students’ learning capacity and level of interest. Consequently, the effectiveness of Music teaching in local primary schools has not yet met expectations. This article analyzes these challenges and proposes several practical measures to enhance students’ engagement and interest in learning Music, thereby improving the quality and effectiveness of Music education in primary schools in Dong Hoi Ward, Quang Tri Province.
