Assessment of digital competence among first-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Law at Bac Lieu University: a framework-based approach.
Abstract
In the context of digital transformation in higher education, digital competence is regarded as a fundamental learning outcome for university students, particularly first-year students, who need to be equipped with and assessed in digital competence from the outset to ensure their ability to adapt to the academic environment and future professional demands. This paper analyzes the current state of digital competence among first-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Law at Bac Lieu University based on the Digital Competence Framework and the Program for Disseminating Digital Knowledge and Skills for Students issued under Decision No. 1504/QĐ- BGDĐT dated May 30, 2025. On this basis, the study proposes several recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of digital competence training at Bac Lieu University in general and within the Faculty of Economics and Law in particular.
