Phu Tho is widely regarded as a land of “sacred terrain and distinguished people,” occupying a strategic position at the cultural crossroads between the Red River Delta and the Northern Midlands and Mountains. The province possesses a diverse array of cultural resources, including distinctive customs, traditional festivals, and historical relics, which provide a solid foundation for sustainable tourism development. This article analyzes the current exploitation of core cultural values and evaluates the tourism development policy framework of Phu Tho Province in the present period. By identifying constraints related to infrastructure, human resources, and the practical implementation of digital transformation, the study proposes solutions for integrating smart technologies into destination management and promotion, as well as for harmonizing cultural preservation with tourism development. The balanced integration of technology and tradition, along with the alignment between exploitation and conservation, is considered a key factor in fostering sustainable growth in cultural tourism in Phu Tho.
