Preservation of Pho Hien – Hung Yen cultural heritage in connection with cultural industry development in the context of international integration.

Abstract

This article examines the preservation of Pho Hien – Hung Yen cultural heritage in relation to the development of cultural industries within the context of international integration. Employing a mixed-methods approach, including document analysis, expert interviews, and field surveys, the study assesses the current state of heritage preservation, the potential for transforming cultural values into cultural industry products—such as film, handicrafts, and festival tourism—and the impact of international integration frameworks, including Vietnam’s Cultural Industries Development Strategy (2016–2025), UNESCO cooperation, and ASEAN partnerships. The findings indicate substantial opportunities arising from cultural tourism and digital technologies, alongside challenges posed by urbanization and globalization. The article proposes solutions such as combining original preservation with creative revitalization, applying VR/AR technologies, and establishing multi-stakeholder resource mobilization mechanisms to foster sustainable development.
