In the context of digital transformation and rapid advances in information technology, electronic data increasingly play an important role in detecting, investigating, and resolving criminal cases. The 2015 Criminal Procedure Code, which for the first time recognizes electronic data as an independent source of evidence, has established an important legal basis for criminal proceedings. However, due to characteristics that differ from traditional evidentiary sources, evidence derived from electronic data raises theoretical issues that require further clarification, particularly regarding its concept, legal nature, conditions for admissibility, and probative value. This article analyzes the theoretical foundations of evidence derived from electronic data sources in criminal procedure, thereby contributing to improved legal understanding and supporting research, teaching, and legal education and training in the current context.
