Traditional blacksmithing village of Tat Tac (Trieu Loc commune, Thanh Hoa province)
Abstract
Tat Tac is a traditional blacksmithing village with a long-standing history in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam. Its metalworking craft has played a significant role in producing agricultural tools, household items, and combat weapons for local communities. Throughout its enduring development, the village has gradually adopted new production techniques and metallurgical innovations, thereby becoming an essential contributor to the economy of Trieu Loc Commune in particular and Thanh Hoa Province in general. This paper explores the historical formation, production techniques, and socio-economic contributions of Tat Tac's traditional blacksmithing craft to local development.
