Some new points on handling violations of land law and resolving land disputes under the 2024 Land Law
Abstract
The National Assembly passed the Land Law on January 18, 2024, during the 5th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly. The law, effective from August 1, 2024, represents a significant legal reform with profound impacts on the socio-economic development of Vietnam. Violations in land management and use, as well as land disputes, remain widespread. Therefore, the formulation of a comprehensive and coherent land law that meets the demands of Vietnam's ongoing economic development in the new era is both urgent and practical. This article discusses several new provisions concerning the handling of land law violations and the resolution of land disputes under the 2024 Land Law, particularly after the restructuring of the two-tier local government system. The analysis aims to contribute to improving the legal framework and enhancing the effectiveness of land law enforcement in Vietnam today.
