Abstract

Teaching and learning narrative writing are crucial parts of the Vietnamese language curriculum at the primary level, especially for fourth-grade students. The use of game-based learning methods in teaching narrative writing to fourth graders in Cao Lãnh Ward, Đồng Tháp Province aligns with modern educational practices. Based on theoretical foundations of narrative composition and game-based pedagogy, and considering the practical context of developing writing skills among local students, this study proposes suitable learning games that foster creativity, increase engagement, and enhance narrative writing skills. Integrating games into instruction not only creates a natural and enjoyable learning experience but also supports the development of linguistic thinking and expressive abilities.
