This study explores the current status of pedagogical communication skills among 163 Early Childhood Education students at Tay Nguyen University during their field observations and teaching internships. The findings reveal that the surveyed students possess an average level of pedagogical communication skills. While they have begun to apply these skills appropriately, their performance remains unrefined and lacks flexibility. Among the groups of pedagogical communication skills, the ability to establish relationships with children is performed more effectively. The main reason for this limitation is that, although students demonstrate love for the profession and affection for children, they have not made sufficient and consistent efforts to practice regularly or to deeply understand child psychology during professional training, field observations, and teaching internships. Assessing and analyzing the level of pedagogical communication skills among Early Childhood Education students at Tay Nguyen University during these activities is both necessary and scientifically meaningful.
