The Fourth Industrial Revolution is expanding rapidly worldwide, driven by the integration of diverse technologies in which information technology plays a central role. Information technology students today will become a high- quality workforce in the near future and serve as pioneers in adopting, applying, and innovating technological advancements. This article examines key factors infl uencing the development of programming skills—an essential professional competency for IT students at Tay Nguyen University. Based on this analysis, the study proposes several solutions aimed at strengthening necessary competencies, particularly programming skills, to ensure students meet the university's training objectives and the demands of the evolving technological landscape.
