To implement population policies issued by the central government, Ho Chi Minh City has directed, managed, and developed various programs and projects to put these policies into action locally. To objectively evaluate how eff ectively population policies are being carried out in the city, this article examines the outcomes of several key component policies aimed at addressing the most urgent demographic issues in recent years. The results show signifi cant progress as well as areas that need further improvement to improve the overall quality and eff ectiveness of population management in Ho Chi Minh City.
