Designing a “Truong Teen” talk show – style debate experience for Grade 11 Literature Module
Abstract
In the context of educational innovation, developing learners’ competencies and qualities is identified as a central goal. One effective approach to realizing this orientation is organizing creative experiential activities connected with real-life social contexts. This article focuses on proposing a design for an experiential activity in teaching Grade 11 Literature Module, through a debate format simulating the “Truong Teen” talk show. The design includes the stages of preparation, implementation, listening, discussion, and conclusion, while integrating assessment tools to ensure objectivity, as well as support students' self-assessment. The activity aims to help students apply linguistic knowledge to social life, particularly in the context of Gen Z language on social media, while also fostering group collaboration, creativity, and multidimensional thinking. With high feasibility, ease of application, and potential for replication, this design contributes to improving the effectiveness of Literature teaching and promoting the comprehensive development of students' competencies and qualities in general education.
