Conserving and promoting the values of folk performing arts in Quang Ninh in the context of international integration
Abstract
The article analyzes the current vitality and the dissemination of aesthetic and humanistic values of folk performing arts in Quang Ninh Province. It focuses on intangible cultural heritages recognized at the national level, including: communal house singing and dancing, coastal antiphonal Singing), Soóng Cọ singing, and Soọng Cô singing. In the context of international integration, these art forms have maintained their identities thanks to the attention of authorities at all levels, the sustained practice of the artisan communities, and the strategic orientation of linking heritage conservation with tourism development. Nevertheless, these heritages are facing significant challenges, including the aging of practitioners, the shrinking of traditional performance spaces, and intense competition from modern forms of entertainment. Based on these findings, the authors propose a synchronized set of solutions regarding remuneration policies, strengthening communication and education, digitalizing heritage, and developing specialized tourism products. Sustainable preservation requires close coordination among the Government, communities, and researchers to promote endogenous resources in contemporary life.
