Abstract

Up until now, the General Education Program, especially the current General Literature program, has been through several adjustments. Literature works by ethnic minority authors have first appeared in the Literature program at both middle and high school levels, which became learning and teaching materials. Using the methods of analysis, comparison, and statistics, the article presents the contributions of a number of ethnic minority authors through the works included in the curriculum, contributing to affirming the value and position of ethnic minority literature in the flow of modern Vietnamese literature. In the poems, short stories, and memoirs by authors such as Y Phuong, Lo Ngan Sun, Mai Lieu, etc., in the curriculum, such
topics as culture, patriotism, and the awareness of maintaining the cultural identity of ethnic minorities are expressed. Thereby, the article affirms the values of ethnic minority literature in the flow of modern Vietnamese literature and in the current educational program.
