The imprint of Chinese culture in the novel “Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace” through genre, themes, and language
Abstract
The study of literature in relation to culture is not a new approach, but regardless of the era, culture holds a certain position, serving as a medium to create the unique characteristics of different nations. Perspectives on culture vary across eras. For this reason, while we have studied culture in the past, we need to continue researching it in the present and future, especially in the context of global integration. Known as a multi-ethnic country with a long-standing and vibrant cultural heritage, China has created numerous forms of art with diverse schools and styles. This richness is distinctly expressed in literary works, from genre and themes to language style. Embracing and inheriting the cultural essence of the nation, Liu Lianzi’s palace novel “Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace” is one such work.
