The impact of confucian ethics on the cultural life in the red river delta countryside today
Abstract
Confucianism introduced into Vietnam has ingrained in the lives of Vietnamese people, especially in the rural areas of the Red River Delta. That influence manifests itself in many aspects such as family culture, village culture, customs and habits, etc. Not to mention the negative effects such as the idea of respecting men and disrespecting women, featuring patriarchal characteristic and strictly classifying status, Confucian ethics plays an important role in moral education, cultural family and new countryside construction. Therefore, research on the presence and influence of Confucian ethics on the social life of rural areas in the Red River Delta would be meaningful; through which we have precise assessments, ways to exploit the values and proposals of some solutions to overcome the limitations of Confucian ethics and better the cultural life of the rural people.
