The symbol of fair and festival in ethnic minority novels of the northern mountains after 1986
Abstract
After 1986, the literature of Vietnam's ethnic minorities, in general, and the novels of ethnic minorities in the Northern Mountains, in particular, have achieved outstanding achievements, showing great efforts of the ethnic minority writers – who are considered "cultural ambassadors" of their group. One of the successes of the writers to be mentioned is that they created a system of unique cultural symbols that makes their own unmistakable signature of their group in the diversity of the community of different ethnic groups. In this article, we deeply explored and exploited the cultural value of fairs and festivals – two of the cultural symbols with depth of thought and typical conceptions of life of the ethnic minorities in the Northern Mountains.
