Promoting the value of sea and island tourism in Quang Ninh province to serve marine economic development by 2030
Abstract
Quang Ninh Province’s tourism sector is recognized as a national hub and a leading marine economic center in Southeast Asia. This is due to its excellent tourism resources, which are divided into four regions, three connecting routes, and three tourism spaces. This setup is a key driver of current and future economic growth in Quảng Ninh Province. To advance values, particularly in terms of improving tourism by 2030, research findings suggest several areas for advancement: strengthening horizontal connections between existing tourism routes; capitalizing on the interconnected values of industry clusters; structuring tourism along island chains; and establishing routes that connect cultural tourism, coastal festivals, and island experiences. These directions align with the proposed research agenda outlined in the National Science and Technology Task Assignment Sheet No. 1037/UBND-VHXH dated April 26, 2024, issued by the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province on “Developing a sustainable economic linkage model for the coastal and island areas of the northern Gulf of Tonkin: A case study in Quảng Ninh Province”.
