Abstract
Aquaculture has been a predominant industry of both Thailand and Vietnam. The aquaculture activities of the two countries have many features in common. Aquaculture in Thailand in general, and shrimp farming activities in particular, is assessed to be immensely developing in Thailand, and has experiences worth learning from. Despite achieving high growth rates in recent times and having great potential, aquaculture in Vietnam is currently facing both opportunities and challenges in the context of climate change. This article
summarizes Thailand's experience in developing shrimp farming; then studies and draws valuable lessons applicable to Vietnam on sustainable aquaculture development in the context of climate change on that basis.
