The vertical structure of some degenerate vegetation types in Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province
Abstract
In Cam Pha city of Quang Ninh province, there are many types of vegetation with a high degree of degradation. Studying vegetation structure plays an important role in formulating a plan for rational exploitation and use and proposing solutions for forest restoration. This study used the linear survey method to investigate the species composition, collect the necessary specimens and select the location of the standard plots to investigate the tree composition. In each standard plot, a panel plot was placed to investigate regenerated trees, shrubs, and fresh carpets. The determination of plant species composition is mainly based on the keys to classify plants according to morphology and structure. Research results show that: IIA forest vegetation has a general cover of 70% and has a 4-storey structure. IC vegetation has an overall coverage of up to 60%, with a 3-storey structure. Vegetation IA has a general cover of about 40%, and has a 2-storey structure. The vegetation types not only differ in spatial structure (coverage, number of canopy layers, canopy height, canopy structure) but also have a huge difference in species composition and the ratio of plant species.
