Tran Nhuan Minh's novelette “Truoc mua mua bao” from a narrative perspective

Abstract

Author Tran Nhuan Minh made significant contributions to Quang Ninh's poetry in particular as well as Vietnamese literature in general. Tran Nhuan Minh, a poet and writer in the mining region, has enriched local literature, especially his first novel “Truoc Mua Mua Bao” (Before the Storm Season), by drawing inspiration from the miners in the Quang Ninh coal region. From the perspective of the "I" character in the narrative, the story follows the six-member Kieu family, who have a three-generation mining heritage, as they collaborate to construct a ferry pump ahead of the stormy season for deep coal mining beneath the sea. Tran Nhuan Minh has given readers in general and kids, in particular, an appealing and fascinating work that ranges from topic, and character, to artistic time, and artistic rhetoric thanks to his love for mine workers and his creative writing talent.
