Abstract
The royal kin and nobility formed a crucial segment of the Lý Dynasty aristocracy, closely tied by blood and inseparably connected to the presence and development of the Lý family on the nation’s political stage. This group became one of the firm foundations of imperial power, playing a significant and lasting role in the rise and fall of the Lý court and in the historical evolution of Vietnam from the 11th to the 13th centuries. In this article, we present a preliminary exploration of the Lý royal family in terms of their size and composition, institutional regulations, main aspects of their social life, and their roles and contributions to the dynasty and the country.
