Developing circular economy: opportunities and challenges for Vietnam
Abstract
Circular economy (CE) is a development model that brings many
benefits and aims toward sustainable development in the context that the global
economy is facing many challenges of natural resource depletion, environmental
degradation and climate change. In Vietnam, there have appeared a number of models
of approaching the CE, contributing to bringing financial benefits to production and
consumption in a sustainable way. However, this model only stops at the perspective
of reuse and recycling of waste. On the basis of an overview of the theoretical basis
of the theoretical economy, assessment of the current situation, the article proposes
solutions to develop the CE for Vietnam’s development in the 2021-2030 period
regarding the XIII Congress of the Party.
