Development of the night-time economy

Abstract

The night-time economy is not a completely new economic model,
which has undergone decades of formation and development in many countries and
cities around the world. Since Vietnam opened up and integrated into the international
economy, the tourism industry has made great progress, making great economic, cultural
and social contributions to the country’ development. Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW of the
Politburo dated January 16, 2017 has determined: “Developing tourism into a spearhead
economic sector is an important strategic orientation for the development of the country,
creating motivation promote the development of other industries and sectors”. Since
then, the night-time economy has had the opportunity to form and thrive. Statistics show
that the development of night-time economy has brought great economic value, cultural
and social efficiency. Night-time economy is a global trend, especially for countries with
strong tourism. However, in the process of development of the night-time economy,
there are many inadequacies which need to be studied and solved.
