DEVELOPING THE STANDARDIZED SCALE FRAME FOR THE STUDENT COMMUNITY’S AWARENESS ASSESSMENT OF ECOLOGICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
Abstract
The paper presents the standardized scale frame findings for the community awareness assessment of ecological and environmental issues. This study developed the public awareness assessment model based on multi-criteria approaches and statistical analysis through the steps such as a preliminary assessment of the scale, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results of the structural equation extracted the basic environmental component (4 observation variables) and the environmental focus component (4 observation variables) were to be consistent with the Chi-square/df; GFI; TLI; CFI and RMSEA. Level of the community’s environmental understanding and awareness was good. Estimated results of the average values with the reliability of 95% were greater than 4 in 5-level Likert scale. Mean value of the observed variables on environmental basics (BASE) was 4.2767 (SD = 0.52621). The situation of global environmental focus (HSPOT) has a mean value of 4.0879 (SD = 0.58515). The researching model can be used for solution recommendations that contribute to promoting and raising the community’s environmental awareness.
