APPLICATION OF ECOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY FOR TREATMENT OF NUTRIENTS FROM CASSAVA STARCH PROCESSING WASTEWATER
Abstract
Currently, Tay Ninh province has 74 cassava starch processing factories and more than 30 percent of them are small-scale. Effluent from the cassava starch processing wastewater treatment systems in this province often exceeds the National Technical Regulation on the Total N parameter. Since the 1990s, the use of plants for treatment of wastewater has attracted attentions, especially for organic-rich wastewater. By arrangement of batch and continuous experiments, we obtained the results of Total N and COD meet the permissible limit of the National Technical Regulation on effluent discharged from the cassava starch processing factories when the amount of Heliconia psittacorum Sessé was arranged within 20 percent of density and retention time of 5 days.
