Abstract

The solution extracted from Terminalia Catappa L. has been used to dybe fabrics with different materials such as silk, cotton, viscose, polyester and taffeta cotton. The fast-ness dyed fabrics were elvaluated in different tests including chemical washing with alkaline and oxidize agents, perspiration and ironing at high temperature. Terminalia Catappa L.extract in wide range of yello color (front light to dark ), was applied on five different fabrícs with different mordants. The results showed that it can be a good dye, especially suitable for dyeing silk and Al2SO4, ZnSO4, CuSO4 can also be good mordants. Besides, dyeing by the Terminalia Catapa L. extract instead of synthetic dyes can significantly contribute to decrease in enviromental pollution – the causes of waste water.
