RESEARCH ON SETTING UP CRITERIA FOR SURFACE WATER MONITORING LOCATION IN HO CHI MINH CITY
Abstract
This study aims to develop criteria for evaluating surface water monitoring locations as a basis for supplementation or adjustment of monitoring locations in accordance with the city's socio-economic development planning from time to time. Due to the fact that the
network has not been approved by the authorities yet, the current network is implemented according to the annual plan but there is no overall development plan. In addition, in Vietnam, there has not been any specific research related to building a system of criteria for evaluating surface water monitoring locations. The research results are based on the instructions of the JICA expert group through the Water Resources Management Capacity Building Project and UNEP/WHO/UNESCO/WMO through the GEMS/WATER Operation guide. criteria include mandatory criteria (representativeness, accessibility and effectiveness, suitability and stability, safety) and incentive criteria (water use purpose) as well as the evaluation process. location of surface water monitoring.
