PEAK POWER LOAD FORECASTING AT THE VINHLONG POWER COMPANY USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK

Abstract

This paper presents the result of the forecasting for peak power load at the Vinhlong Power Company based on artificial neural networks. The training data for the neural network includes the total electricity consumption of five economic components, peak power demand, increasing population rate, increasing GRDP rate of Vinh Long province from 2010 to 2019. The authors have employed the ANN Toolbox of Matlab software to create the neural network and make the forecasting. The numerical results show the peak load of 2020 is 222.26 MW with a forecasting error is 0.19%. The forecasted result is suitable to the regulation of the Electricity Regulatory Authority.
