FEASIBILITY STUDY OF MANUAL ASSEMBLY FOR POWER PLUGS ACCORDING TO THE KILBRIDGE-WESTER LINE BALANCING METHOD
Abstract
In a production line, line balance is one of the top concerns. The benefits of line balancing are indisputable. Therefore, products in general, and especially hand-assembled products in particular, want to achieve high productivity at low costs, promoting line balancing, especially for production facilities with automation level is not high. Based on the theory of line balancing, the article considers and analyzes the feasibility of applying the Kilbridge-Wester line balancing method to the manual assembly of mechanical products in general with the goal: creating assembly line balancing between workstations, helping to increase productivity, which means reducing production costs. Thereby, helping to improve line balance by dividing products into sub-assemblies.
