GLOBAL INFLATION RISK ON FDI INFLOW AND EXPORT VALUE OF VIETNAM AFTER COVID-19

Abstract

The noticeable economic trend in the first quarter of 2022 is the significant increase in inflation in North American and European countries. Significant inflation level in the world is expected to threaten growth expectations in Vietnam after controlling Covid-19. The aim of this study is that synthesizes the latest economic data from Vietnam and some developed countries to analyzing how global inflation risks can influence Vietnam's FDI inflows and exports. This paper predicts that the growth of Vietnam's exports and the FDI inflows into Vietnam may be negatively affected by high global inflation. However, this paper finds positive internal signals supporting recovery process in Vietnam after Covid-19. Moreover, the analysis provides some strategies applied in Vietnam to limit the negative impact of high inflation attract FDI and export.
